No, nisu sve priče o moći i strahu.
Jer svaka vala ima svoje tajne, a svaka legenda — svoje more.

And now, let’s sail in English…
The Croatian coast has always been more than sea and stone. It is a place where reality and myth constantly intertwine — where, in the whisper of the pines and the murmur of the waves, one can still hear the echoes of fairies, the footsteps of pirates, and the voices of ancient legends that shaped this land’s identity.
From Istria to southern Dalmatia, every bay and cape has its own story. Some tell of fairies dancing under the moonlight, others of pirates who ambushed merchant ships and hid their treasures in secret caves. These legends are often a blend of truth and imagination — but what makes them special is their deep connection to the sea.
In Istria, tales speak of builder fairies who worked through the night, stacking stones of the Pula Arena before disappearing with the dawn. Around Kvarner and the islands, people tell of sea fairies and sirens who enchanted sailors with their songs, while Dalmatia keeps alive the stories of pirate captains from Omiš and the Neretva River who once ruled the Adriatic.
Yet not all stories speak of power and fear. Many tell of love between people and the sea, of sacrifice, courage, and the eternal bond between humans and the coast. These are living legends — part of the heritage connecting generations of fishermen, sailors, and travelers.
The “Along the Croatian Coast” project seeks to bring these tales back to life — through a maritime journey that connects past and present. Because every bay has its secrets, and every legend — its sea.
